Christmas gift ideas for Mums
Firstly let me tell you, I LOVE supporting fellow work at home Mums. It takes a lot to juggle life at the best of times but add working and running your own business, wow it’s tiring! Nonetheless it’s amazingly empowering and of course we experience a huge amount of job satisfaction. So these ideas come mostly from small business owners, some I’ve followed for a long time, others I’ve discovered more recently. I’m not affiliated with any of them, I simply love the products and services they have to offer! I’m also going to throw in a couple of ideas for children but they’re just as much for the Mums!
1. Muddy Boots Forest Adventures – Book some sessions! A great opportunity to meet fellow Mums with a love for the great outdoors and to let the children blow off some steam in the woods!
April and I have been attending Muddy Boots since the Spring. Kirsty welcomes us each session with a huge smile, you can tell she loves what she does. We enjoy child led play in a safe area of the woods, with various activities for the children to explore at their own place. Later you can munch on popcorn popped over the fire and of course the highlight has to be a marshmallow toasted over the flames! She’s recently added free hot drinks for the parents – Definitely welcomed on a cold morning in the winter months! We attend the session at Highwoods Country park on a Monday morning but there are many other sites on offer. She’s also introducing Saturday mornings in the new year which is fantastic for working parents to enjoy some fun in the woods!
You can contact Kirsty HERE for more information or to book.
2. Coastal Path Creations – Breastfeeding milestone keyrings & chewy necklaces
Show her how proud you are of her most recent milestone with one of these beautiful keyrings. I keep meaning to buy one for myself! They also offer a lovely range of teethers and necklaces. The necklaces can be customised to your favourite colours, perhaps you’d like to match it with your sling?!

3. Naturally Happy Families – Chelmsford & Witham Sling Library
Talking of babywearing why not give a new Mum or Mum to be the gift of learning how to carry her baby? Perhaps she’d love to be shown how to wear her baby safely with a one to one consultation and/or to borrow a sling to find the right one for her. These ladies are amazing and will take care of her. A lovely gift for a new Mum.
You can find pricing HERE and of course can ask a little more about their services too.
4. The Little Beach Hut Company – Hire a hut! (Mersea)
If you’re anything like me I value experiences over any material thing, especially if my family are involved! (Well a new camera lens would be nice, haha!) What better than a day at the beach with your own little home from home for the day? Again something I keep meaning to book! These huts are decorated beautifully and you can even prebook food! Amazing! I know these huts book up fast so you might have to be super quick!

5. Jimmy’s Farm – Passes
So not a work at home Mum, obviously! The gift of something to do with your family is priceless. A day out whenever they feel like it and all they have to do is get themselves there! We always enjoy our visits to Jimmy’s, my children love exploring the farm and building dens. The food there is also delicious! We invested in a family pass this year and it pays for itself after a few trips.
You can purchase passes HERE
6. Book a photo shoot with me!
Did you know that I offer gift vouchers? What better way to surprise a Mum than with a photo shoot to capture all those amazing memories together?! My vouchers can be bought as a set amount ie £50, £100 etc, or you can purchase a voucher for a set product like a piece of stunning wall art – A fantastic gift if you know someone who has had a session with me this year. I’m also offering a limited number of Babywearing portrait sessions and Mummy & Me sessions, both to be held at a set location in the Highwoods, Colchester area.
Do you have any ideas for gifts for Mums this Christmas? Something a little different or for a day out? Feel free to make some suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org and I may well add them to this blog!
