Find your Creativity
I don’t know about you but I learn by watching and doing. Books are amazing but when it comes to a creative skill I think it’s really important to get practical. Designed to help parents create more interesting images of their children day to day and to encourage confidence. Also a brilliant opportunity for school aged children to get stuck into a new hobby or to increase their skills. Suitable for children age 9+ joined by an adult.*
These sessions are a one to one experience. We will correspond in advance so that I can tailor your session completely to you. Perhaps you already know your way around your camera but need some help with composing a shot, or visa versa. Maybe you’d love to learn about using natural light or perhaps you’re a complete newbie!
I like to keep things really relaxed. We will go for a walk around a location and you will learn as you go. I will assist you in working at finding your eye, to see a location differently and use what’s around you to create more interesting photographs. We will talk about changing camera settings in simple terms. I want to help you to find your creativity and confidence with your camera. I remember feeling really awkward when out and about in the early days!

Mums with Cameras – Group Creativity Workshop
Join me for a session with up to 4 other Mums. Group photography workshops are all about learning to have fun with your camera and to find your creativity. I’ve loved giving parents tips over the years, it’s amazing how some small adjustments will enhance your photographs. I want to show you how to make your day to day images of your kids that little bit more interesting. And guess what? You don’t need a big DSLR camera to do it! Bring along your phone, compact family camera or digital camera – Whatever you use at home or on days out.
Sunday 9th February – Highwoods, Colchester
Sunday 8th March – Chelmer Park, Chelmsford
I’m also keen to show you how you can transform your images with Lightroom. Lightroom is an amazing programme, really user friendly and so much can be achieved within it. You will need to have access to your own computer and Lightroom. These sessions can take place at your own home (I’m happy to travel outside of Colchester to Mersea, Chelmsford, Witham but please contact me to discuss) or at my home during the school week.
**Please note that these are designed for amateurs/hobbyists, NOT for those running or looking to run a photography business. My aim is to help parents to create more interesting images of their children at home and on days out or holidays. I to want encourage confidence and the enjoyment of photography**
*Those under 18 to be accompanied by a parent – you could learn something too! A great opportunity to support your child’s interest.
