Why I LOVE Autumn!
I think we all have our favourite seasons. For the weather, for the events it brings, for the clothes we wear and the places we like to visit. My absolute favourite day would be a sunny, crisp day in autumn. A little chilly but wrapped up in a cosy jumper and scarf, plus no rain!
From a family photographer point of view this is no different. The COLOURS! How can we resist the beautiful changing colours of autumn; the rosy cheeks, dragon breath in the morning (a school run fav!) or all those snuggly chunky knits?! Early mornings sometimes give us stunning fog to shoot in and there’s always the dew on the grass – ready to be walked through in our favourite welly boots! We add scarves and gorgeous hats to our wardrobes, we keep warm with big family hugs.
It doesn’t surprise me that this season books up so quickly. I leave behind my busy summer at the beach for crunchy leaves and fingerless gloves! That said, I still do visit the beach in all seasons and I have a couple of longer sessions booked there in October, chilly but worth it! My welly boots are dying to come out to play on those gorgeous muddy paths, with the golden leaves and autumn sun shinning through. Oh it’s going to be so much fun!!
The shorter days also mean that shooting at that glorious golden hour is not going to interfere with any bedtimes! I’m a self proclaimed (beautiful) light chaser and I’m so looking forward to introducing more families to this favourite time of mine, you will not be disappointed! We can shoot late afternoon right through the winter and I’ll be running some more sessions here in February!
