A fantastic afternoon at Feadon Farm

My children love animals, so when I was looking for days out for our holiday in Cornwall I really wanted to find an animal experience, without breaking the bank!

I came across Feadon Farm at the GwelanMor resort in Portreath and knew we had to include a trip there. I told my 3 year old that we were going to meet reindeer, foxes and an owl. He was very excited!

We arrived at the resort and met Gary their wildlife ranger. There were just two other families with us for the experience so it was very personal. The first animals were goats, I don’t think my son was too impressed as he desperately wanted to see the reindeer!! Gary was great, took our sons temperament in his stride and spoke to him, explaining we’d see them soon. It was very refreshing to not feel like your child was being annoying, just being a kid.

We met donkeys, fed chickens, reindeer (!!), met rabbits, foxes, flew an owl and met lots of smaller creatures including a toad and a snake. We were totally blown away with the number of animals we saw and the things we learnt even as adults!

A totally fantastic place to visit and we will certainly be returning in the future, trying out the other experiences as our children grow up. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling to Cornwall for a holiday, no matter the age of your children!
